Mrs. Rebecca A. Coy Dead
Mrs. Rebecca A. Coy, widow of Mathew Coy, died this morning at 5:15 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L.A. Wirey, on the Greensburg Road. Mrs. Coy was 86 years old on February 10. She was born in Johnson County in the Pisgah community and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Christopher Poe. After her marriage to Mr. Coy most of her life was spent in Bartholomew County, until about two years ago when she came to make her home with her daughter.
Surviving her are one brother, David Poe, of near Edinburg, the daughter, Mrs. Sadie Wirey, and five sons, Christopher Coy of Columbus, Rev. D.O. Coy of Lebanon, Wm. A. Coy of near Edinburg, John Coy of Rockland, and Ira Coy of Taylorsville. Mr. Coy died June 7, 1911.
For many years, Mrs. Coy had been a member of the New Bethel Christian Church west of Edinburg.
Funeral services will be held Thursday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Edinburg Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. W.P. Kebby of Advance. Burial at Edinburg.
