Horace Hayes Martin, 85, of Donelson, passed away on December 12, 2019.
He was born on November 12, 1934 in Nashville, TN. He was the second child born to the late Bertha and Ellis Martin. In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by his oldest brother, Ellis D. Spillman (Margorie) Martin.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Betty (Hanna) Martin; his daughter Cheryl (Jeff) Bohan, son Greg (Marla) Martin; brother Grady (Renee) Martin; grandchildren, Tracie, Allison, Zachary, Jackson, Nathaniel and Amanda; great grandchildren, Jack, Shiloh, Evelyn and Finley; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Horace was a devoted husband, loving father and doting grandfather. He was charismatic and the life of any party. He loved his family, his garden and the Atlanta Braves. An avid hunter, he was longtime member of the Sure Shot Rabbit Association.
At the young age of 18, Horace took a job with Southern Shoe Machinery and became Plant Manager. In 1991, he joined a sister company, INDUSCO, and remained a loyal employee until May 2019.
A Gathering of friends will be held on Monday, December 16, 2019, from 12 p.m. -2:00 p.m. at Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home.
A celebration of life service will immediately follow at 2:30 p.m. Woodlawn-Roesch-Patton Funeral Home, 660 Thompson Lane, Nashville, TN
