"Died, at the residence of A.E. Williams, of gastro peritonitus, Mrs. Dora Williams, aged 25 years, 5 months and 14 days.
The subject of our sketch was a daughter of Richard Acton, born in Holt county, Missouri, and was married to Lewis S. Williams, April 15, 1880. By this union four children were born, two girls and two boys, three of whom survive their mother, the youngest, a girl, having passed to the other side just a few weeks ago.
Please send edit if Parents are incorrect. Thank-you!
She professed a hope in Christ at the age of thirteen years and joined the Baptist Church. During her short stay on earth she made many friends by her kind, generous disposition. She was never known to murmur or complain during life. She was patient and submissive during her sickness, "always (illegible) and giving consolation to those around her. In her death a husband has lost a kind companion, her children an affectionate mother, her parents a dutiful daughter, and society an (illegible) loss."
Suggested Edit:
Suggest that you place this memorial in Brodbeck Cemetery, Oregon, Holt County, Missouri, where her husband (who died only months later) was buried. Of course with the notation: No known grave marker or burial record. Buried probably near her husband, who died 8 months later.
Having enlarged and increased the contrast of her obit., she was age 26 (not 25) years, 5 months, and 14 days; date of birth 23 Aug 1861 (not 1851). By calculation, her date of death is 6 Feb 1888.
Came across this memorial because the Acton family reaches back to Richland Co., Ohio, where some of my ancestors lived, and because I was reviewing the memorial of her bro-in-law who was a Civil War vet (another point of interest).
