Mrs. Ruby Louvenia Chestnut, of Birmingham, formally of Sand Rock, passed away Saturday, July 24, in a Birminham hospital. She was a native of Cherokee County, a home maker and retired seamstress from Centre Manufacturing Company and a member of Sand Rock Baptist Church.

Services were Monday, July 26, at 11 A.M., in the Perry Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Arnold Oliver officiating. Burial was in Sand Rock Cemetery, with Perry Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Chestnut is survived by a daughter, Patsy Reagan of Birmingham; a son, Billy J. Chestnut of Chattanooga; two sisters, Frankie Elrod of Franklin, Ga. and Etta Benton of Cave Spring, Ga.; a brother, Elmer Stowe of Atlanta; four grandchildren; two great grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Chestnut was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Chestnut, in January 1989.
She was the daughter of the late, Joel Thomas and Ina Willingham Stowe.
