Art (Gene) was born on September 15, 1934 in Connersville, Ind. to Roscoe (Bud) and Dora Hamilton. His work career started at Philco Ford in 1951 and ended with the same company in 1984. He was married to Barb Hamilton for 48 years. He has three daughters, Beverly, Cathy, and Shelley.
In the summer Art enjoyed working in his vegetable and flower gardens. He especially loved his roses and a fresh cut bouquet often showed off the fruits of his labors. He also had a passion for woodworking and would spend hours tinkering in the basement. He had a heart for service and caring for others in need.
Art was preceded in death by his parents, Bud and Dora; his brothers, Kenny, Frank, and Roscoe; his sister, Ella Jane, his daughter, Beverly, and his first wife, Florain.
He is survived by his wife, Barb; his daughters, Cathy and Shelley; his sisters, Helen, Ida, and Bertie, and his grandson, Jerry Jones.
Visitation for Art will be held on Friday, December 6, 2019, from 11:00am until 1:00pm at Urban-Winkler Funeral Home, Connersville. The funeral service will begin at 1:00pm, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Dale Cemetery.
