Eliza Crouch (nee Britcher) was born in Rolvenden in Kent in 1854 the daughter of Henry Britcher and his wife Sarah (nee Sharpe).

In 1861 they were living in Rolvenden where her father worked as an agricultural labourer. She was still living at home in 1871.

She married secondly Thomas Crouch in 1887 in Hollingbourne. Thomas was a widower with five children. They had a further two children. Ada born in 1889 and Frederick in 1895. Thomas was a labourer living in the High Street in Headcorn.

In 1911 they were still living in Headcorn where Thomas was still working as a labourer.

Their daughter Ada married Graham Checkland Howes and in the late 1920 s Thomas and Eliza moved to their home in Mytchett known as Tauda China.

Eliza died at Mytchett in August 1930 and was buried at Frimley on the 31st of August 1930.
