Annie May Simpson Shivers was the daughter of Enos Litchfield Simpson and Texana Elizabeth Haile (daughter of Lucy Ann Parker and Samuel Chester Haile). She married John William Shivers on October 27, 1897, in Crockett at the age of 16. Her children were: Wilma Stokes Shivers, John Franklin Shivers, Margaret Elizabeth Shivers, and Nell Shivers.
