Czech archaeologist, cave explorer. He discovered a Venus figurine which is dated to 25,000-29,000 years ago in the Paleolithic site of Dolní Věstonice. This is one of the oldest known ceramics in the world. He worked to map many caves such as Moravský kras, including the Macocha Abyss and the Pekárna, Punkevní and Kateřinská caves.
