Mr. Elbert Jennings Gooch, 63, of Dreyfus, passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at Baptist Health Hospital-Lexington.
Elbert was born in Madison County, Kentucky on January 28, 1956 to the late Harold and Barbara Jean Rose Gooch. He enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, family and friends. He was a member of the Southeast Engine Association, the hillbilly flywheelers and the Jessamine engine and tractor association. He was of the Holiness Faith.
Survivors include three sons: Eric Gooch (Delores), Warren Gooch and Dillion Gooch; three grandchildren: Bethany, Ethan and Mariah Gooch; a Goddaughter: Carly Mays; one brother: Lester Gooch (Pam); four sisters: Irene Shelton (Wes), Vickie Lester (David), Joan Shelton (Michael) and Kathleen Roberts; one uncle: Marion Gooch (Janice); three aunts: Geneva Linville, Barbara Shelton and Sue Chrisman (Robert); as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, and grandparents, he was preceded in death by a sister: Deborah Goodin.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at The Bethesda House of Mercy, 2357 Dreyfus Road, with Rev. Marvin Marshall and Rev. David Ballard officiating. Burial will follow in the Gooch Family Cemetery at Dreyfus.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Tuesday evening at the church.
Pallbearers are: Eric Gooch, Warren Gooch, Ethan Gooch, Marcus Heist, Calvin Gooch, Namon Gooch, Ricky Fowler Jr., and Travis Fowler.
The Combs, Parsons & Collins Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
