"James J. Allender Sr., 76, of 318 Brookdale St., Allentown, died Sunday in his home. He was the husband of Grace M. (Smith) Allender. They observed their 55th wedding anniversary in June.
He was a sheet metal worker with Mack Truck Inc., for 33 years, retiring in 1971.
Born in Allentown, he was a son of the late Alfred and Alice (Brong) Allender.
Surviving with his widow are two sons, James Jr. of Allentown and Kenneth of Coopersburg; a daughter, Janet, wife of John Gruver of Greentown, Pike County; three brothers, Paul, Edward and Leo, and two sisters, Hattie, wife of Ray Hontz and Mrs. Verna Moyer all of Allentown, and five grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in the Werley-Knopp Funeral Home, 46 E. Susquehanna St., Allentown. A calling hour will precede the service."
