Geneva Adkins Hodges, age 94, of Danville and formerly of Henry County, died November 22, 2019, at Stratford House, Danville. She was born in Pittsylvania County, on June 9, 1925, to Claude B. Adkins and Virgie Adkins. She was married to the late James H. “Jimmy” Hodges.
She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters: Lorene Adkins, Reid Adkins, Calvin Adkins, James Adkins, Kathleen Adkins Huggins, Betty Adkins Gibson, Iris Adkins, Robert Adkins, and Judy Adkins. She is survived by a her sons, James R. “Jim” Hodges (Suzette), C. Michael Hodges (Rita); four grandchildren; sister Barbara Jo Adkins Mills.
She graduated from Callands High School and from Radford College with a degree in elementary education. She was a teacher in the Henry County Schools, teaching the fourth and fifth grades at Fieldale Elementary School, retiring in 1987. She was a member of Fieldale United Methodist.
Burial will be in the Hodges Family Cemetery, Hodges Farm Road, in the Rangeley Community of Henry County.
