Emil Hovde
August 17, 1919 - August 17, 2005

Mr. Emil Hovde, age 86 of Willow Lake died on Wednesday evening in a DeSmet care center after a brief illness.

He was born in Merton Township, southeast of Clark on August 17, 1919, the son of John and Ingeborg (Bjorge) Hovde. He attended the Kirkeby School in Merton Township through the eighth grade.

After his education, Emil began helping on the family farm, a love he continued until retiring and selling the farm in the late 1980's at which time he moved into Willow Lake.

He was a baptized and confirmed member of Good Hope Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Elnora Hovde of Clark and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding him in death were his siblings, Nels, Edwin and Sigurd Hovde, Lisa McGillivary, Borghild Ness and Adeline Bakken.

Funeral services will be held at the Good Hope Lutheran Church 9 miles south and 4 1/2 miles east of Clark on Saturday, August 20, 2005 at 2PM. Burial will be in the Church cemetery.
