Don LeRoy Bybee 1932 ~ 2007 SALT LAKE CITY- Don LeRoy Bybee, 75, beloved father, grandpa, brother, and friend, died July 12, 2007 from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident in Yellowstone National Park where he was working for the summer at Old Faithful. Born June 26, 1932 to Orson Sirren Bybee and Faunda G. Romero Bybee in Pinchgut, Idaho and raised in Soda Springs, Idaho, he graduated from Utah State University in Agronomy, served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean war as a 1st Lieutenant, 507th Bomber Wing, and graduated from the University of Utah Law School. He worked as assistant Attorney General for the State of Utah and assistant City Prosecutor for Salt Lake City, before practicing law in private practice until his retirement. Don served his church in the scouting program, as a ward missionary, and as a guide on Temple Square. Don was an outdoorsman who loved boating, fly-fishing, family reunions, music, reading, the arts and cowboy poetry and enjoyed sharing his knowledge with others. He worked hard, was dedicated to his family - immediate and extended, and he spent every possible moment with his grandchildren. Don is remembered by all who knew him as one who spent his entire life selflessly helping and serving others. Don passed from this life too soon at a quiet bend in the Firehole River near where he loved to fish. Survived by: sons, David (Martha) Bybee, Thomas (Rita) Bybee, Joseph Bybee, and Susan (David) Selim; brothers Sirren (Barbara) Bybee, Andrew (Patsy) Bybee, 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his parents and sister. Funeral services will held Sat., July 21, 2007 at Noon at the Hooper LDS Chapel, 281 E. Hooper Avenue, in Soda Springs, Idaho. Family will meet with friends Sat. morning from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery in Soda Springs with military graveside services. Services are under the direction of the Sims Funeral Home.
