Darlene Korus, 90, of Lindsay, Nebraska, entered into eternal life Tuesday, November 19, at Mid-Nebraska Lutheran Home, Newman Grove, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 26, at 10:00 AM, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lindsay, with Fr. Eric Olsen, Fr. Jim Novotny, and Fr. Jim Kramper celebrating the Mass. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be on Monday, from 4:00 - 7:00 PM, with a vigil service at 7:00 PM, all at the church. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, from 9:00 AM until service time. Memorials may be directed to those of family choice.

Darlene Korus was born January 19, 1929, in Platte County, Nebraska, to Frank and Isabelle (Schaefer) Albracht. She attended school at St. Bernard through the 8th grade, then went on to work at the Gambles Store in Humphrey, Nebraska, until she was united in marriage to John Korus of Tarnov, Nebraska, on January 25, 1949, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Humphrey.

Darlene operated “Darlene’s Home Safety” from 1974 – 1999. She was an active member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Ladies Guild, and Legion Auxiliary. Darlene enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and was a fantastic cook. She enjoyed quilting, and donated over 900 quilts over the years to the homeless. Darlene enjoyed music, but her greatest love and enjoyment was spending time with her family.
