She was born October 22, 1928 in Blackfoot, Idaho. She was the daughter of Carl James and Leah Cunningham Whitesides.
Barbara graduated from Davis High School in 1946 where she was involved in many activities and surrounded herself with many friendships and memories.
She was an active member of the LDS faith and held many ward and stake callings. One she recalled often was serving as Relief Society President. Mom also had sacred memories while serving a mission in the Ogden Utah Temple.
Her employment included: Utah State Agricultural Services, US Postal Service, and Hill Air Force Base Golf Course.
Mom loved being at home where she enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also had many friends and memories in Mesquite, Nevada.
She is survived by her five sons: Mark (Patty), Joe (Pam), Ross (RaeAnn), Kip (Joleen), Carl (Patti), 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Wayne and Keith Whitesides.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.
