:O for a touch of the vanished hands
And a sound of the voice that's forever still
Grandmother Dollison Laid At Rest

Mrs. Elizabeth Dollison died at her home near Comiskey, Lyon County, March 1 at 2 o'clock p.m. at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 2 days. She was the youngest daughter of Wm. Carlyle born 28 Dec 1819 in Hampshire county, West Virginia. She witnessed the falling of the stars Nov. 13 1833. She embraced the religion of the Lord Jesus Christ early in life and united with the Methodist Episcopal church and ever afterwards lived a devoted christian life. In her girlhood days her father's family moved to Guernsey county, Ohio. August 13, 1840, she was united in marriage to David Dollison, proving a most happy union. Nine children blessed this union John Wesley born September 25, 1841, Mary Jane born September 5, 1843, Elizabeth Ann born November 10, 1845, William Harvey born November 7, 1847. In the fall of 1848 they moved to Buchanan county, Missouri where James Alexander was born January 3, 1851, Nancy S. born October 1,1853, Sarah Ann born November 30, 1855, Martha Catherine born May 3, 1860, Chas. Seigle born August 8, 1862. In this county they layed one boy and two girls to rest. In the spring of '82 they moved to Kansas, located in Morris county, where they lived until the fall of '88 when they moved to Wright county, Mo. Not being satisfied there they moved to Henry county, Mo. where in the spring of '93 David fell sick and died Jul 20, 1893 in full triumph of the religion of the Lord Jesus Christ saying "I will soon be at my home in glory." He was layed to rest at the Browington cemetery. This greatly discouraged her and in the spring of '94 she moved back to Kansas with her youngest son and oldest daughter, and located on Rock Creek near Comiskey, where she lived in fair health for one of her age, until about a year ago when she was taken sick with a nervous affection (affliction) from which she never recovered, gradually growing more feeble until the end came at which time loved ones and friends were gathered around her and did everything in their power to alleviate her awful sufferings. While in the agonies of death she would call to first one then another to her bedside and try to talk to them. All they could understand was 'be good" She called the names of loved ones gone before her and said they were all around her. Then the end came and she cried "Come Jesus, come quick" and with outstretched arms she would embrace the children saying "Lord bless you". Then she passed away and was laid to rest in the Comiskey cemetery in the presence of a host of friends."
