BARBER, Vynessie Lee -- Funeral services for Vynessie Lee Barber, 97, will be at 2 p.m. today, March 5, in Johnson Funeral Home. The Rev. W.H. Yarbrough will officiate. Burial will be in Highland Memory Gardens Cemetery. Visitation is from 8 a.m. Mrs. Barber died at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, March 3, 1999, in a local hospital. She was a native of Jacksonville, Fla., and had lived in Mountain View, Calif., for many years before moving to Lake Charles several years ago. She was a member of Assembly of God in Sunnyvale, Calif. Survivors include four daughters, Emma Hagar of Lake City, Fla., Blanche Slaydon and Vynessie Sellars, both of Westlake, and Georgia Fink of Lake Shasta, Calif.; four sons, George Johns of Fernindina Beach, Fla., Leon Johns of Sulphur, William Johns of Mittie and Albert Johns of Beaumont, Texas; one brother, Luell Pringle of Sulphur; 35 grandchildren; 87 great-grandchildren; and 55 great-great-grandchildren.
