Neva M. Batts, age 89 of Turners Station, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, at Baptist Hospital Northeast Hospice Unit. She was the daughter of the late William and Nellie Jewell Mahoney, member of Turners Station Christian Church, member of Turners Station Homemaker club for over 50 years and was very involved with Henry County Senior Citizens.
She is survived by one son, William M. Batts and wife, Lorena, Turners Station; two grandchildren, one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Morris Batts; three brothers: Merrill, Ted and Everett; and three sisters: Anna Laura, Gladys and Mary.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 17 at Ransdell Funeral Home in Campbellsburg. Reverend Carl Rucker and Reverend Earl Wayne Perry officiated. Interment was in Port Royal Cemetery.
Honorary pallbearers were Jill Pettus, Jane Munson, Diane Lundergan, Darlene Minor, Rita Price, Esther Wooten and Bill Mahoney.
Pallbearers were Jason Perry, Christian Mayse, Butch Tinker, Joe Lundergan, Scott Abney and Harold Price.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Hospice and Palliative Care of Louisville.
