With great sadness we announce the passing of Billie Roseberry, of Cape Coral, FL, formerly of Cedar Rapids. Billie was born Billie Dawn Lebkisher to Lenore Bednar Lebkisher Chrysler and C.W. (Bill) Lebkisher on September 8, 1932 in Cedar Rapids, IA. Both parents preceded her in death. After a 2 1/2 year battle with a massive brain tumor, Billie was called home to her maker in the early morning hours of June 27, 2007. She spent her last days at the Cape Coral Hope Hospice House. Billie grew up in Cedar Rapids and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1950. On August 16, 1952 Billie married the love of her life, Richard(Dick)Robert Roseberry, also from Cedar Rapids and a graduate of Roosevelt High School and the University of Iowa. Their marriage produced two children: retired Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander Richard(Rick)Lee Roseberry, and Dana Sue Roseberry, President of Ad Ventures Worldwide, Inc. Both children reside in Cape Coral, as does granddaughter Dawn Marie Roseberry, a soon-to-be senior at Fort Myers High School. During their marriage and prior to moving to Cape Coral, FL in 1996, Billie and Dick also lived in Chicago (area), IL; Omaha, NE; Birmingham, MI; Lake Quivira (KC area) KS, and Ellsworth, KS. Above all else, Billie was a wife and mother. She always put her family first, and made holidays and special occasions ones that held lifetime memories for all those who attended. She was a terrific cook and animal lover - particularly fond of boxer dogs. She loved to entertain and enjoyed crafts. Billie was a clean-queen and perfectionist, as anyone who visited her home could tell. She and Dick also loved to travel, and over the years traveled throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Europe, Hawaii and took Caribbean cruises. In Cape Coral, Billie (along with husband Dick) was a member of the December 1996 New Residents Club of Cape Coral, (Billie was the afternoon chairman of the 60th board of directors), Dine-Around Dinner Club, Frisky Floaters Boat Club, Iowa Club in Paradise and the Kansas City Chiefs Fan Club of Southwest Florida. Billie was also an active member of a Monday Canasta card club. While living at Lake Quivira, Billie was an active member of Garden Club, the 9-hole Golf Group, Saddle Club, founding partner and member of the Gourmet Club, and was Recording Secretary of the Board of Directors and the City of Lake Quivira for many years.
