John Quincy Adams, 89, of Andrews, died Monday, Nov. 27, 1995 in a local hospital.

He was a native of Cherokee County. He was retired from Columbia Marble Co. and a member of the Hyatts Creek Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Maggie Jordan Adams; one step-daughter, Mayme Griggs of Oklahoma City, OK; one brother, Doc Adams of Kannapolis, NC.; one sister Mattie Berry of Social Circle, GA; two grandsons, Harold and Alvin Griggs; two granddaughters, Donna Eason and Joyce Moore; three great-grandsons. Caleb and Nathan Moore and Daniel R. Griggs; five great-granddaughters, Sara, Delisa, Prescilla and Penny Griggs and Jane A. Sisk.

Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 30, in Townson Rose Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Rev. Homer Wilson officiated. Burial was in Moss Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bobby Joe Jordan, Steve Pendergrass, Joe Mintz, Sam Jones, Silas Wilson and Howard Trull.

Townson Rose Funeral Home, Andrews, was in charge of arrangements.
