Sudie’s love of sewing led to her founding a high-end dress shop named “Sudie’s” which she owned and operated for many years. She was one of the initial members of the Dallas Opera Guild and Prestonwood Country Club as well as a long-term member of Bent Tree Country Club, Mes Amies Club and several ballroom dance clubs. Sudie was an avid golfer, loved dancing, music, gardening, dogs, spending time in Desert Mountain, Arizona and all things chocolate. Although she was short in stature, she lit up a room with her jubilant personality. Sudie’s generosity was reflected in many charitable organizations in the community.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Appel and all of her siblings, the most recent being Duane Cleere (her mischievous brother). Sudie was survived by her husband, Dr. A. Gordon Worsham; sister-in-law Estelle Cleere; stepchildren Stephen A. Worsham and wife, Stacie, Richard E. Worsham and wife, Laurie, Laura L. Worsham and fiancé, Don Hawkes; step-grandchildren Dr. Jennifer L. Worsham, Ashley, Cole and Shelby Worsham; nieces Janice Winford, Barbara Selwa Bonelli, Linda Reynolds; nephews James Malcolme Cleere, Jack Cleere and many great nieces and nephews.
A service celebrating Sudie’s life will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2019 at 1:00 pm in the chapel at St. Michael and All Angels Church at 8011 Douglas Ave., Dallas, Texas. Visitation will be on Friday, November 8, 2019 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas 75225 with burial to follow.
