Died, Thursday morning, Aug. 30, 1900, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Alice F. Fullenwider, in Crawfordsville, Ind., Mrs. Melissa Stockdale, widow of Joseph Stockdale, aged 82 years. The deceased was born in Greenfield, O., in 1818, and came with her husband, Joseph Stockdale, in 1843, to this city, where she lived until a few years ago when she went to live with her daughter, Mrs. Fullenwider, of Crawfordsville, Ind. Her husband died in this city in 1859. She leaves her daughter and a son, W. T. Stockdale, of East Allen street, this city. Another son, William G. Stockdale, who served in the civil war, died in 1869.
The remains will arrive here this afternoon via the C. & A. and will be taken directly to Oak Ridge cemetery, where short services will be held. - IL State Register, Springfield, IL, 8-31-1900
