Eliaken Anderson, of Keswick, Iowa, died at a hospital in Chicago Sunday, May 22, 1892, from abscess of the kidneys. He went to that city two weeks ago, hoping as a last resort, to gain relief from the malady that afflicted him by a surgical operation. The operation was performed, but without avail. Deceased was a native of Moline, born August 13th, 1849. His youth and early manhood were spent at the old homestead on Pink Prairie, and in 1886 he moved to Iowa where his home has since been. He leaves a wife, five brothers, a sister and step-mother, all of whom but one brother were present at his funeral service held at the Evangelical church on Pink Prairie at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the service being conducted by Rev. E. W. Thompson. It was the desire of his friends that his body should be brought back to the old home and laid beside those of his relatives already resting there. He was a prosperous young farmer and had just got well established when the disease which resulted in his death arrested his labors; Deceased had many friends here who will sympathize with his family in their loss.
