Roberta “Bert” Noe, 95, of Ankeny, died on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at MercyOne Hospice – Johnston. Funeral services at the Wallace Family Funeral Home and Crematory.

Bert, the daughter of William and Letha (Wilcox) Jontz, was born on December 14, 1923, on the family farm near Baxter. She grew up in Baxter and graduated from Baxter High School.

After high school, Bert attended Iowa State Teacher’s College. Bert married Charles “Chuck” Noe in Missouri. While Chuck was in the Coast Guard, they lived on the West Coast and Roberta worked in a fish factory. Later Bert and Chuck lived in many different locations as they followed Chuck’s career as a professional chef.

Following Chuck’s death in 1966, Bert returned to Iowa and lived in the Des Moines area. She worked for many years at AT&T and also part time in retail sales. Following her retirement from AT&T, Bert continued to work and held a position at the Hoover Building working for the State of Iowa.

Bert is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chuck; and two brothers, Charles and Clyde Jontz.
