Mrs. Emily Delois Johnson Kelso passed away on October 26, 2019 at the Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. She was born in Alamance County to Reverend Lacy Johnson and Mrs. Verna Cobb Johnson on November 27, 1945.

She was employed with Truliant Federal Credit Union for more than 15 years. She was a member of Elon First Baptist Church, where in the past she was a member of the Ushers Ministry and sang with the choir. She was married to Mr. Raymond Leroy Kelso. She loved shopping and going to the movies. In our opinion, she was, by far the best cook who made the best macaroni and cheese and cakes. She truly loved her family.

She leaves loving and lasting memories to her loving daughters: Celeste Owens-Fuller (Waymon "Randy") and Latarsha Owens; three grandchildren: Jasmine Owens, Emilio Owens and Alyse Owens; two great-grandchildren: Jamison Owens and Jordyn Owens; two step daughters: Camille Kelso and Casey Kelso Halsey (Brett); two step-grandchildren: Harper Halsey and Niki Kelso; two siblings: Mildred Johnson Jeffries and Reverend Thomas "Sonny" Johnson (Connie) as well as many dear nieces & nephews, other relatives and dear friends.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Reverend Lacy Johnson and his wife Joann.

Funeral services for Mrs. Kelso will be conducted on Monday, November 4, 2019 at 1:00pm from the sanctuary of Elon First Baptist Church. The family will greet friends an hour prior to the services and all other times they will be at 404 Walnut Crossing Dr., Whitsett.
