Norman Cardwell Crisp, 91, of Amarillo, passed from this life on Saturday, November 2, 2019.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the personal care of LaGrone Blackburn Shaw Funeral Directors, 8310 S. Coulter Street.
Norman was born October 13, 1928 in Clayton, New Mexico to Ira Nain and Minnie Alice (Cardwell) Crisp. He was the youngest of 12 children.
He married Thelma "Dean" Thompson in 1960. Theirs was a love story for the books and it lasted 49 years, until her passing on October 4, 2009. Norman was a member of Coulter Road Baptist church.
Norman was a musician who played the bass guitar. He loved country-western music. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Dean; five sisters, Leona Spore, Martha Wood, Rosebud Bonjour, Lorrenne Rigsby and Loretta West and six brothers, Gene Crisp, Kenneth Crisp, Vincent Crisp, Abe Crisp and Cecil Crisp. He was also preceded in death by an infant brother, Cecil Crisp in 1923.)
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Cole Barnes and wife Mel of Norman, Oklahoma; two grandchildren, Taylor Vinson and Kerri Edgar; one great-grandson, Devin Roberts and one great-great granddaughter, Alice Roberts.
