Minnie Branch Williams

Minnie Branch Williams, 90, of Rocky Ford Street, Morganton, died Wednesday, July 11, 2007, at Western Wake Medical Center in Cary, North Carolina.

Born in Burke County on Nov. 7, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Pinkney Branch and Alvina Heele Branch.

Minnie was a member of North Morganton Baptist Church. She worked at Belk's Department Store for 43 years. She loved to grow flowers and was an avid fisherman.

A loving mother and grandmother, she is survived by her daughter, Darleen Lowery and her husband, Dan, of Raleigh; a granddaughter, Kim Doreauk and her husband, Robert, of Raleigh; great-grandchildren, Isabella and Luke Doreauk; sisters, Mary Hoke, Faye Leonhardt and her husband, Ervin, and Virginia Kirby, all of Morganton; sisters-in-law, Juanita Branch and Lillie Branch; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Boyd Williams; brothers, Joseph, Cecil, Donald and Leroy Branch; and sisters, Ruby Scott, Catherine Byrd and Amelia Wall. Burial will follow in Forest Hill Cemetery.
