Don died peacefully at home January 1, 2005 with his loving wife, children and grandchildren at his side. He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Mary Caroline, their children, Corinne Dahm (Darrel Winter) and their children, Curtis and Laurel of Dalemead; Donna Dahm of Peace River; Diane (Bob Plowman), also of Peace River; Joe Dahm (Sandra) and their children, Caitlin, Wyatt, Carmen, Dawson and Bryden of Keephills; and Darren Dahm (Val) and their children, Paden, Lacey and Logan of Valleyview. Don was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Frances Dahm; his brothers, Robert and Jim; and brothers-in-law, Harvey Katterhagen and Bob Busslinger. He is survived by his dear sisters, Geneva Knapp (Hal) and Maria Nilsson (Bjorn) and other family, Doris Kenney (David), Tibi Busslinger, Bert Katterhagen (Carol), Fini Katterhagen and many nieces and nephews. Don is also fondly remembered by many cousins in the U.S.

Don was born on the family farm in Rockyford on January 28, 1923. He schooled at Redland, Rockyford and Campion College in Regina where he excelled both academically and athletically. He joined the R.C.A.F. in 1943 and graduated with his pilot's wings in 1944. He was the flying instructor in North Battleford for one year. Don went overseas as a flight lieutenant with the Fleet Air Arm and returned to the farm in 1946. Don's love of the land and interest in farming lasted a lifetime. He contributed to the many communities in which he lived and made many lifelong friends. Throughout his life Don excelled at all endeavors. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed flying, curling, hunting, golfing and playing pool. Don faced challenges with dedication, commitment and success, and left the world a better place. At Don's request, no funeral washeld.
