She married Henry Bernard Niemeyer on April 28, 1850 at St. Philomena's Church, Cincinnati, Hamilton, Ohio. They had five children: Emelia, Gerhardt Henry (G. H.), Mary, Raymond, and Charles. After she died, Henry Bernard married Mary Anne (Weber) Schmees, whose husband passed away. John Schmees is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery. Clara's granddaughter, Cecelia Frances Niemeyer, is buried to the left of her. Cecelia is a daughter of G.H. Niemeyer.
