Miriam had retired from the former Reeves-Hoffman Crystal Manufacturer and G.S. Electric in Carlisle. She had attended the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Boiling Springs. She was a graduate of Carlisle High School Class of 1948. Miriam volunteered for many years with the Salvation Army in Carlisle. She enjoyed flower gardening and her cats that she had over the years.
She is survived by two sons, James E. Borden and wife Wanda and Donald L. Borden and his wife Debra all of Carlisle, four brothers; Amos, William, Robert and John Barrick, five sisters; Della Wilson, Juanita Holley, Bernice Keller and Julia Miller. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Chad and Branden Borden, Melinda Nichols, Pamela Oswandel and seven great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Lee J. Borden, Jr., five brothers; Miles, Ray, Richard, Carl and George Barrick, three sisters; Louetta Barrick, Charolette Tritt, and Dorothy Barrick.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at 11:00 AM in the Hoffman Funeral Home and Crematory 2020 West Trindle Rd. Carlisle with the Majors John and Alma Riley officiating. There will be a viewing in the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 AM till time of services. Interment will be in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens. The family requests memorials in Miriam's name be made to the Salvation Army 20 E. Pomfret St. Carlisle, PA 17013.
