BURCHETT, Ruth E. age 87, of Savannah, Ga., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, October 23, 2019. Ruth was born into a large family in Kentucky in 1931, which always remained her home away from home. Soon after she met her beloved husband and partner of 66 years, Huey L. Burchett. Together they loved and raised a large amazing family that made her very proud. Ruth was the family matriarch and was dearly loved by all that crossed her path. She was a lifelong learner, avid reader, homemaker, cook, gardener, and collector of family pictures. Her life was filled with joy by an amazing collection of family and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Dana L.; son, Terry D.; grandson, Donald L. Hatcher; both parents, Jessie W. and Mary J. Adams; four sisters, Ruby G. Adams, Sally M. Heflin, Emma L. Kain and Flossie E. O’Bryant; five brothers, Jesse L. Adams, James E. Adams, Maurice C. Adams, John P. Adams, and Rondal L. Adams. Ruth is survived by her husband Huey L. Burchett; children, Donald L. Burchett and Mary D. Lowdenslager; four grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; sisters, Francis M. Whaling; Vanita J. Moon, A. Reva Milligan, Billie M. Maggard; a host of brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Funeral service 11 a.m. Monday Oct. 28, 2019 at the GEORGE C. MARTIN FUNERAL HOME, “Northridge Chapel,”5040 Frederick Pikeat Needmore Road. Pastor HC O'Bryant, officiating. Interment Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
