Mrs. Henry Batson Dies at Age of 91
Mrs. Sarah Estella Batson, 91, near Mt. Zion, widow of Henry S. Batson, died at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. C. O. (Etta) Alexander of Robinson, Ill., with whom she had been residing. Death followed an illness of seven months.
A native of Wells County, she was born July 9, 1874 to Isaac N. and Esther Spakes Neff. Her marriage to Mr. Batson, who died in 1946, took place Nov. 12, 1892
Mrs. Batson, a member of the Mt. Zion United Brethren Church, had resided in Huntington County 54 years.
Surviving are another daughter, Mrs. A.W. (Agnes) Howard of Fort Wayne, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Robison after which the body will be returned to the H. Brown & Son Funeral Home at Warren, where friends may call after 1 p.m. Sunday.
Rites will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with Rev. Wilmouth Gillis officiating. Burial will be in the Jones Cemetery.
