Funeral service for Norman A. Anderson was held Monday, June 8, at the Reardan Presbyterian Church, followed by burial at the Reardan Cemetery. Pastor Pat Hogan and Rev. Mark Klohe officiated, and Cheney Funeral Chapel was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Anderson passed away on June 1, 1998 at his home near Reardan. He was 93. Born Aug 23, 1904, in Waukon, Mr. Anderson graduated from Reardan High School in 1921 and attended college at WSU for two years. In 1930, he married Doris Lane, and lived and farmed near Reardan. He was a lifetime resident of Lincoln County. Mr. Anderson was a 70 year member of the Masonic Lodge, and was also a member of the El Katif Shrine and the Directors Staff. In addition, he was associated with the Calliope for 15 years. He was a charter member of the Waukon Grange and its first master in 1929, a charter member and director of Lincoln Mutual #2 in Reardan for 20 years, a member of the Reardan Cemetery Board, current member and charter member of the Reardan Lions Club, and a member of the Royal Order of Jesters since 1960. Norman Anderson was preceded in death by his wife Doris in 1990. He is survived by his foster son, Herman A Scholer of Reardan; a sister, Lavina Swanson of Medical Lake; one nephew, Gary R Swanson; three nieces, Gladys Henry, Gladine Madsen and Shirley Zahn; 3 grandnieces… and one great grandnephew.
