He grew up and attended Elementary School in Hatch. Larry attended Jr. High and High School in Panguitch, graduating in 1958. The next few years were spent working with his father at Earl Sawyer and Son's Construction, until his father was killed in an automobile accident in 1966.
Larry served a short stint in the Military, then moved to Richfield, Utah where he worked at various jobs. He worked many years for Richfield Clothing. He attended Sevier Valley Tech in the Culinary Art's program, after which he worked at the Short Stop, Little Wonder Café and McDonalds. Larry also worked at Deseret Industries.
Larry eventually became disabled by the increasing severity of his Parkinson's disease. He moved to Logan for a short time so his sister could look after him, but he missed his friends and acquaintances in Richfield. When he was no longer able to live alone, he wanted to return and moved into the Richfield Care Center in 2003.

Larry is survived by two brothers and a sister, Stan and Betty Sawyer of Hurricane, Utah; Bob and Julie Sawyer of Bountiful; Judy and Don Shelton of Mendon, Utah.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Sawyer, his mother, Leora Wilson Sawyer who died six months ago, and a brother, Dell Sawyer.
Grave side services will be held Saturday, June 30, 2007 at 12 Noon in the Hatch Cemetery.
