His name is listed as Fobbs in all Civil War Records, but his widow Annie applied for a pension and his name is listed as Forbes. It was not approved, probably because the name in his record was Fobbs. He is listed as Allen Forbes in the Armed Forces Graves Registrations, but many of his Civil War documents list his name as All Fobbs.
