Mr. John Harold Anderson, age 75 of Blackshear, died Monday (July 9, 2007). He was born in Pierce County to the late Walkie and Eva McCarthy Anderson.
He was a mechanic by trade and an avid fisherman. He served several years in the National Guard. He attended University Boulevard Church of God in Waycross.
He was preceded in death by 4 brothers: Cleo, Ernest, Aubrey, and Russell Anderson, 2 sisters: Lavada Williams and Dorothy Crews, 2 sons-in-law: Rev. Wayne Wiggins and Doyle Wiggins.
He is survived by 3 daughters, Vickie Wiggins of McCaysville, Ga., Janice (Terry) Griffis of Blackshear, and Jean Wiggins of Dublin, Ga., 5 grandchildren, Evan Wiggins of Natchez, Ms., Shawn Griffis of Blackshear, Marci (Larry) Mize of McCaysville, Ga., SunDee (Scott) Burgess of Dublin, Ga., and Autumn (J.R.) Fitch of Chattanooga, Tn., 8 great-grandchildren, a sister, Laverne Crosby of Waycross, and a brother Maloy Anderson of Blackshear, and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 11 AM Wednesday (July 11, 2007) in the chapel of Smith Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Blackshear City Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
