Mrs. Laverne A. "Bootsie" Crosby, 80, died Thursday evening (July 7, 2016) at her residence after an extended illness.
She was a native of Pierce County, but she has lived most of her life in Waycross as a homemaker.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Walkie Anderson and Eva McCarthy Anderson; her daughter, Sheila Diane Crosby; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include one son, Terry L. Crosby (Geneva) of Waycross; two daughters, Debbie Crosby of Waycross, and Denise Setser (Bob) of Waycross; five grandchildren, Tara Crosby Morrison, Robbie Setser (Laura), Thomas G. Crosby III (Tiffany), Brian Tyre (Kim) and Stacy Tyre (Mitzi); 10 great grandchildren, Megan Tyre, Maggie Tyre, Blake Tyre, Jay Morrison, Stetson Crosby, Aiden Setser, Trace Crosby, Brody Tyre, Will Morrison and Ethan Setser; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday (July 9, 2016) at New Life Church. Entombment will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends 10 until 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
