Allen, Joshua; Private; Company B; Residence: Jackson County; Killed at Perryville, Oct. 8, '62
from the Roll of Honor (No. XVII.), 1868; National Cemetery at Perryville, Boyle County, Kentucky
"This cemetery is located on a commanding eminence, about two miles from the village of Perryville, on the Springfield pike. The spot is on the extreme southern border of the battlefield of Chaplin Hills..."
p. 348; No. 79, Allen, Joshua; Private; Co. B, 22d Indiana Infantry; died Oct. 8, 1862; original place of interment: Perryville battle-field; (no section or grave number listed)
From various websites I have learned that these soldiers were moved in 1865 to a nearby hillside with other Union casualties and reburied in mostly marked graves. In 1867, after failed attempts to purchase the land, the Federal Government removed and re-interred all Union soldiers at Camp Nelson National Cemetery, Jessamine County, Kentucky.

Gravesite Details
Would have originally been at the battlefield in Perryville; I assume and hope it was relocated to Camp Nelson; must be unmarked.
