Bill was born on August 28, 1929 in Estelline, Texas, a son of Elvin and Erma Lee (McBrayer) Phillips.

He married Carol Lane Lewis on January 4, 1948 in Memphis, Texas.

He is survived by three daughters: Theresa Capretta of Houston, Texas, Billie (Ruth Stovall) Phillips of McKinney, and Linda (David) Fulton of Paris, Texas.

Three grandchildren: Rene Fulton of Austin, Texas, Dirk (Rachel) Fulton of Keller, Texas, and R.J. Capretta of Houston.

Two great grandchildren: Benjamin Nolan Fulton and Katherine Davie Fulton.

One sister: Venita Jonietz of Garland, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Wayburn Phillips and one grandson: Eric Wood.

Bill was a salesman all of his life. Selling appliances for Amarillo Hardware all over the Texas panhandle, our vacations were spent traveling to each tiny town before reaching Red River, NM. He worked at Fairmart Furniture in Borger, TX as manager for six years.

He then moved back to Amarillo Hardware as Director of the furniture gallery and in 1971 ,he moved to Fort Smith, Arkansas as the upholstery designer.

Moving on up, he retired as the National Sales Manager for Riverside Furniture Industry. Dad loved all of his sales reps and was extremely proud to work with such great people.

Dad was a "32nd Degree" is someone who is a full Member of the Scottish Rite, a well-known and heavily populated appendant body of Freemasonry; he is equal to all other Masons in the world, but is no higher in stature. He earned his 50th + pin this year.

His creativity as a designer was unique and unparalleled.

Dad had the greatest laugh.

A memorial service and celebration of life for Bill will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 11:30 AM at the Sparkman Richardson Funeral Home, located at 1029 S. Greenville Avenue, Richardson, TX 75081.
