John Fred Ashby, 90, of 122 E. 900 N., Bountiful, died June 26 at his home.
HE WAS born Oct. 10, 1873, in West Bountiful, a son of Benjamin and Ann Chester Ashby. He married Elizabeth Annie Jones Oct. 10, 1894 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was a retired market gardener. He was a high priest in the Bountiful 10th ward, past ward MIA president and genealogical committee chairman. He served a mission to the northern states 1910-12.
SURVIVORS: widow, one son, J. Dale, Chino, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Charles W. (Ruth) Law, Mrs. D. E. (Beula) Nelson, Mrs. M. Russell (Beth) Cheney, Bountiful; Mrs. G. L. (Eva) Nelson, Wendell, Ida.; 20 grandchildren; 50 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held June 30 at 1 p.m. in the Bountiful 10th ward chapel with Bishop Keith T. Mann in charge.

The 10th ward Relief Society was in charge of flowers.
