Catherine "Kay" (Cunningham) Adamchak, age 98, of Knightdale, NC and formerly of Stratford, CT, beloved wife of the late Frederick Adamchak, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2015 in Raleigh, NC surrounded by her loving family. Kay was born July 6, 1917 in Bridgeport, CT, daughter of the late William and Gertrude (Hartley) Cunningham and had been a life time area resident before her recent move to North Carolina to be closer to her daughter Eileen and her family.
Kay was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft for many years and in retirement enjoyed traveling, playing Bingo and spending time with her friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter Eileen Turchan; son-in-law Rich Ardito; granddaughters Melise (Ardito) Mountcastle and husband Brian, Lynnae (Ardito) Barrella and husband Michael; grandsons Tom Ardito and wife Allison and Bill Turchan; eight great-grandchildren Tori, Marty, Emilee, Brooke, William, Brayden, Jaxon and Avery. In addition to husband, Kay was predeceased by daughter, Kathleen Ardito and son-in-law Ted Turchan.
Friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 9:00 a.m. in the William R. McDonald Funeral Home, 2591 Main St., Stratford, CT and 10:00 a.m. in St. John's Cemetery, Stratford, CT. Visitation will be Monday, October 12, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
