He was born Dec. 28, 1899 in Nebraska* and attended a Catholic boys' school there. After his father's death, he took over the family construction company at the age of 15. He moved the business to Stanford in 1914 and operated it until selling it in 1957. O'Neill then moved to Pomona, Calif., where he worked for a screen and awning shop until retiring. He returned to Great Falls in 1986 and had lived here since. He was a member of the Elks Lodge and Eagles Lodge.
Survivors include a daughter, Joyce Wirtala of Great Falls, two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
