Virginia Lockey McMillan, 84, died Feb. 11, 2007. She was born Dec. 1, 1922, in Los Angeles, CA, to Othello Vere and Georgina Gertrude Cook Parker.


She was proud of being baptized aboard the USS Arizona (BB-39) by the chaplain, a friend of her father. As a career Navy wife, she lived in San Diego, San Francisco, Bremerton, Kwajalein, Seattle, and other place, but her personal happy place was Honolulu. She lived in Longview since 1956. She was an avid gardener, had a life-long interest in music, considered her children a gift from God. She was a member of Stella Historical Society, a charter member of Stella Lutheran Chapel, and honorary life member of the Lutheran Church Women.


Surviving are her husband of 67 years, Kenneth McMillan; children Ken and Margret Wyffels, Paul McMillan, Dorothy McMillan, and Skip and Mary Cliffton; 6 grandchildren, Melanie Preiss, Bethany Cliffton, Joseph Wyffels, Barbara Gilmer, Eric McMillan and Jennifer Smith; and 4 great-grandchildren, Jaden and Jared Smith and Kyle and Ryan Gilmer.


Interment in Bunker Hill Cemetery.
