Pauline “Snooks” Allen Rassler, age 93, of Shelbyville, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the Celebration Way Assisted Living. She was born on June 8, 1926 in Moore County to the late John Wiseman and Julia Gore Allen. Ms. Rassler was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church in Lynchburg. Ms. Rassler moved to Oak Ridge, TN in 1945 following the war to work at the gaseous defusion plant in the medical dispensary. She was employed and later retired from Baptist Hospital in Knoxville as a lab tech. Ms. Rassler was a devoted Democrat and loved watching MSNBC in her freetime. She loved Lynchburg. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by, her husband Theodore Alvin Rassler; and sister, Nell Allen. She is survived by, her sister Hazel Allen Gordon of Flat Creek; Nieces, Anne Gordon Sanders of Murfreesboro, Betty Gordon (Julian) Goodpaster of Eagleville; Great Nieces and Nephews, Sarah (Matthew) Sanders Teague of Whites Creek, Dr. William (Reetu) Sanders of Chicago, IL, John W. (Jennifer) Goodpaster of Columbus, GA, James M. Goodpaster of Eagleville; Great Great Nieces and Nephews Ava Jean Teague, Locke Teague, Rohan Sanders, Sonia Sanders, Maggie Goodpaster, and Hazel Goodpaster. Visitation will be held from 2:00 – 3:00 P.M. Sunday September 29, 2019 at Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow visitation at 3:00 P.M. in the chapel of Jennings Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Robert Jared Officiating. Interment will be held at Lynchburg Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial donations be made to the First United Methodist Church of Lynchburg.
