Thomas Hershel “Buster” Houk, 59 of Monks Road died Monday at his home. The funeral will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Gallant Funeral home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Bob Cole and the Rev. Sonny Moore officiating. Burial will be in Macedonia Cemetery.
Mr. Houk was a native of Madison County, Ala., a retired construction and maintenance worker for Elk Valley Professionals Affiliates and a member of Harmony Church of God.
Survivors include his wife, Cassina Slayton Houk; one daughter, Sonja Archer of Fayetteville; five sons, Barry Houk, Keith Houk, and David Houk, all of Fayetteville, Wayne Houk of Birmingham and Tim Houk of Nashville; his mother, Mildred Phillips Houk; three sisters, Carol Burchette of Huntsville, Judy Shannon of Fayetteville and Cindy Hill of Hazel Green and six grandchildren.
