Wayne Hodge Sr., EDPA/C, age 87 of Milan, TN, passed away peacefully Saturday, September 21, 2019, surrounded by love with his surviving children and loved ones at the home of his daughter in Clarksville, TN.

He was born on July 29, 1932 in Humboldt, TN, the son of the late Eugene and Linnie Hodge.

Wayne was a Humboldt High School graduate and a Marine Corps veteran who served during the Korean War; he was a member of the Marine Corps League. Wayne retired as a master teacher from Gibson Co. High School after a career as a manufacturing engineer. Upon retirement, he devoted his time to specializing further in the equine dentistry field and remained active until his death. He was well known as a Certified Master Equine Dentist and was called upon for his expertise from all over the country. In 2015, he was the first recipient of the prestigious John Causey award. This award is given to individuals who have gone above and beyond to share their knowledge of equine dentistry. He had a personal relationship with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and attended Christ Church in Brownsville, TN.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Hodge, son, Michael Hodge, and granddaughter, Stephenie Lynn Langley.

He is survived by his children, Melenthia (William) Reynolds, Wayne (Leslie Crytzer) Hodge II, Melissa (Ron) Whitehead, 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. His brother, Gary (Alice) Hodge and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great- nephews also survive.

Fellow members of the Marine Corps League will serve as pallbearers.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 27, 2019 in the chapel of Medina Funeral Home with Brother Eddie Martin officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
