He was a native and resident of Winston-Salem and was a member of Scales Memorial Chapel. He was employed for many years at S&J Meats and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Korean War.
He is survived by his wife, Naomi S. Attucks of the home; three sisters, Cora Robinson, Delores Kemp, both of Patterson, N.J., and Essie Kennedy of Minneapolis, Minn.; four brothers, Samuel Attucks, Eugene Attucks, Clifton Attucks and Alphonso Attucks, all of Winston-Salem; a sister-in-law, Ruth Scales and a niece, Darlene Attucks, both of Winston-Salem and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at noon Monday, Dec. 17, 2001, at the chapel of the Russell Funeral Home with Pastor Johnnie B. Hands officiating and the eulogy by Pastor Julius Coard Jr. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. to noon Monday at the funeral home. (Russell)
