Jessie D. Hobby, age 78, passed away September 7, 2019. He was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Clayton “Dick” Hobby. He worked for many years as a Boilermaker for a variety of different companies. He proudly served in the United States National Guard for over 28 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend to many. He will be greatly missed.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clayton “Dick” and Essie Mae Eubanks Hobby; sisters, Linnie Laura “Duck” Butler and Margaret “Dink” Howell; brother, Jack Clayton Hobby.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 53 years, Joette Breland Hobby; children, Yvette (Al) Hillman, Shawn (Raeanne) Hobby, Percy Lance (Brenda) Hobby and Jelene Hobby; grandchildren, Dakota, Donavan, Aaron, Kassidy, Annie, Devan, Cole, Nick, Timothy, Ryan, Levi, David and one great grandchild on the way; sister, Essie Mae “Coot” (Ricky) Cochran; mother-in-law, Cleo Breland; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
The Visitation for Jessie Hobby will be Monday, September 9, 2019 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Moments Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will begin at 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2019 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Carl Randall, Bro. Wilburn Bolen and Bro. Shane Giles officiating. Burial will be in Holmes Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
