Mrs. Mary (Kate Rye) Haynes passed away on Friday morning (January 8, 2010) at Claxton Hepburn Medical Center.

Mrs. Haynes is survived by her daughter, Carol Ann Defoe, Ogdensburg;
a granddaughter, Lisa Bresett, Ogdensburg;
two sisters, Betty Small, Ogdensburg, and Patricia House, Gouverneur;
one brother, Ronald Rye of NJ.
Mrs. Haynes was predeceased by two sisters, Beverly Moncrief and Shirley Rye and her long-time companion, Wesley Yerdon.

Mrs. Haynes was born in Ogdensburg on July 16, 1934, the daughter of Warren and Mildred Julius Rye. She attended local schools. She worked for the Ogdensburg School District for over 40 years where she served as Custodian at Sherman Elementary School (615 Franklin St.). Mrs. Haynes enjoyed camping at Joe Indian Pond, gardening and shopping.
