David Wayne Dahlberg, age 92, of Brady, Texas passed away Sunday, September 1, 2019 in Brady.

David was born May 16, 1927 in Brady, Texas to Oscar Gustof Dahlberg and Judith E. (Sandburg) Dahlberg.

He was a 1945 Brady High School graduate and attended Tarleton University.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

He married June Evridge on December 29, 1954 in Millersview, Texas.

He was a farmer and stockman all his working life. He served as President of the McCulloch County Farm Bureau for several years. He served on the board of directors and as an officer of McCulloch Electric Coop. He served on the board of directors of the ASCS, Federal Land Bank and the Farmers & Ranchers Coop. He was a lifelong Methodist. He attended the West Sweden Methodist Church growing up and later transferred to the First United Methodist Church in Brady, where he and his entire family were very active members. He served on various committees over the years and led the early Sunday worship service for over 25 years. He also was a member of the church choir.

He was a firm believer in helping others. One way was by donating over 16 gallons of blood over the years. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, water skiing (in long pants) and singing. He would sing anywhere and anytime. His favorite songs were old hymns and Christmas carols. He loved to "fiddle around" with things to fix them and he could fix most anything. He enjoyed metalwork and creating things.

A memorial service for David Dahlberg will be held 11:00am Saturday, September 7, 2019 at the First United Methodist Church in Brady with Reverend Bun Jackson and Reverend Sheldon Johnson officiating. Interment of the cremated remains will be at the West Sweden Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends Saturday morning from 10:00am to 11:00am at the church.

Honorary Pallbearers will be David's grandsons and granddaughters and his great-grandsons and great-granddaughters.

David Wayne Dahlberg is survived by his loving wife of over 64 years, June Dahlberg of Brady, Texas; daughters Carol Pilgrim of Brady, Texas and Alice Powell of Brady, Texas; grandchildren Tamatha Guillen and husband Jesse, Kim Trejo and husband Ryan Guerra, Brandon Trejo and wife Vanessa, Chase Pilgrim and wife Whitney, Kiel Pilgrim, David Powell and wife Stephanie, Brett Powell and Jenny Powell; great-grandchildren Hunter Dawson, Scout Dawson, Angelo Trejo, Grayson Pilgrim, Landry Pilgrim, D.J. Powell, Brody Powell, Cooper Powell and Maggie June Powell and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, a sister, a daughter and a nephew.

Memorial contributions in memory of David Wayne Dahlberg may be made to the First United Methodist Church, 401 South Blackburn, Brady, Texas 76825.
